Journal

HA!!! Can you believe it?!?!?! Another entry, and it hasn't even been a month yet!!! Don't get any ideas though ~ I'd hate for you to start expecting this!

We've been very busy enjoying life and loved ones, but I did get Chapter 2 of "The Epic" posted and wanted to let you know.

Some BIG news ~~~ I'm not the only "journal"ist on this site anymore!!!! Be sure to check out Caleb and Jeremy's new web log by clicking here...but be ready for a good laugh when you do! They'll give you a completely different view of our family, and enable you all to know the Naylor family that much better.....a good thing, right?!?!?

We've been having quite a bit of company lately and it's been fun to visit with so many friends and family from out of state. Our brother Josh, along with his wife Erin, and the adorable Sophie just left after a week with us, but it didn't seem that long!!! Sophie, who is four, expressed how quickly the time flew...

"Is today Sunday?"  "Yes."  "Then tomorrow is Monday?"  "Yep."  "And the next day is Tuesday?" "That's right!"  "Noooooooo, I don't want to leeeeeeeeeeeave...I'm going to scream and cry tomorrow if we have to go home Tuesday."  By the way, Sophie's favorite color is PINK!!!

She especially liked Uncle Jesse's dog, Ruger, and was very sad to see them both leave on Sunday morning when he went back up to Missouri to work with the Harsches for a week. The rest of us have been playing games and pretending "princess", trying delicious new recipes, and not getting enough sleep for days now. One night Erin made us all grilled pizza...mmm, mmm good!!! Mormor and Grandpa Jack came down from Arkansas for a few days, and we saw Grandma and Grandpa Naylor, too. Isn't family special? We think so!!!

We have had so many acorns this year. One guest that visited didn't want to walk outside for fear of being hit in the head by a falling nut!!! Some of us have supposed that this was because we didn't have as many bugs this year and the trees were healthier. Then we found out that oak trees don't produce nuts until they are twenty years old....maybe they had a huge 20th birthday bash!!! But we have realized that there aren't any squirrels around, when usually there are multitudes of those cute, fuzzy-tailed rodents scampering about. What has happened to our squirrels??? Nobody knows...

Jeremy is adding a new feature to our website so that those of you who want to can "subscribe" and then be notified by email whenever this journal is updated or we have other breaking news. Please click here to give us your name and email address if you would like to be on our e-mailing list.

We've had an amazing Indian Summer the past month, but winter blew in last night, and we are ready to spend a quiet, cozy evening in front of our fireplace. It was strange to go to bed with my windows open and wonder at the warmness of the evening, but then to wake up to the wind howling about my little room (though Sophie insists that the wind can't talk!) and wishing for flannel sheets, cozy sweaters, fires and hot tea. The moon is full and bright. Tonight it feels so close, as if I could reach out and touch it. Seems like last time I wrote about the full moon, too....hmmm, wonder if I'm developing a pattern here?!?!?!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!!

I do dislike for it to be called "Turkey Day", don't you? We should give thanks daily, but it is such a nice opportunity for family and friends to get together and fellowship as we do take the time to realize how much we have to be thankful for. I'm incredibly thankful for my family and friends - near and far, my opportunities to travel and meet so many wonderful people...you know who you are!!!, the gift of music, full moons, cool weather, and especially the faith I have in my Creator and in my Saviour, Jesus Christ. I am thankful for mercy and grace, and the fact that God won't give up on me, even though I am stubborn and stiff-necked at times (Who, ME???).

We would love to hear what you are thankful for. There is no obligation, but if you'd like, after you read this post drop us an email, or better yet, sign our guestbook, and share what you are especially thankful for. It will cheer others up, and do yourself good, too, just to take the time to think of and thank God for all the daily miracles that we take for granted, as well as the big important things that make our lives possible.

Well, that's all for now. Maybe next time I'll actually have some pictures to post!!!

God bless you,
