Think on These Things

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith... Heb 12:1-2

"Man is God's creature, God's property, and God's servant or slave. The earth is the Lord's and all of creation. The only law that can properly govern man and the earth is God's law."
"The central problem of our time is that men, in the name of the Lord, are serving other gods while denying that this is the case. Because of their apostacy , humanistic law is increasingly prevalent all over the world. Every law system is a form of holiness, but for God all these other holiness codes are forms of blasphemy, and His law alone is the way of holiness."

If we ~ you and I ~ are truly crucified with Christ as Paul talks about, then our hands, too, are nailed to the cross. We have no means of protection over our hearts. We are ready to be hurt, ready to be hated, ready to be misunderstood, ready to be emotionally or physically killed for the sake of love.
But love is not only pain. Just as Christ endured the cross for the joy set before Him, so we are called to endure and suffer long for the joy set before us. Love cannot be conquered, and love will never lose. It is love that wins the world, that heals the broken, that opens prison doors. As we love Him with all our hearts and love each other as He loved us, we open ourselves up to the limitless working of His Spirit.

Hold Christian company, and you will be kept wakeful by it, and refreshed and encouraged to make a quicker progress in the road to heaven. But as you thus take “sweet counsel” with others in the ways of God, take care that the theme of your converse is the Lord Jesus. Let the eye of faith be constantly looking unto Him; let your heart be full of Him; let your lips speak of His worth. Friend, live near the cross, and thou wilt not sleep.
~Charles Spurgeon~

If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed.
If you look within, you’ll be depressed.
But if you look at Christ, you’ll be at rest.

True song is the gift of God our maker. He giveth songs even in the night; and songs ever celebrated His glory and grace. The creation of the world was heralded by song. "The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy." The deliverance of Israel from Pharoah and the Red Sea was celebrated in a song. The advent of Christ to our world brought all the hosts of heaven to sing a joyous strain above His lowly cradle. The renewing of the soul by the grace of God awakens thanksgiving and the voice of melody. The Psalmist, when brought up from the horrible pit and the miry clay, had a new song put in his mouth, "even praise unto our God." The last act of our Saviour's ministry, before he went out to his agony, was to sing a hymn. What music that must have been! The establishment of the kingdom of God and the overthrow of all His enemies will be hailed and greeted with strains of rapturous melody; and the glad ages of Messiah's reign will be ages of perpetual song. Song is the language of thanksgiving, Of devotion, of triumph; hence if is the legitimate expression of those who joy in God, having become reconciled to Him, and thus prepared to show forth the praises of Him who has called them to glory and virtue...So, by every dungeon-wall which Satan has erected, and in the hearing of every lost sinner whom Satan has led captive at his will, we would have the songs of joy and gladness sung, in the hope that some imprisoned soul may catch the music of the strain, and know the grace of Him who came to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison doors to them that are bound.

Today's mighty oak is just yesterdays nut that held it's ground.

It is the most dangerous kind of corporate self-delusion to think that a President, regardless of how much he heeds a God, can reverse the bent of the national will, once it is set in a certain direction. And when it becomes apparent that he cannot, he (and the Christianity he professes) will become the next scapegoat. All of which seems to put the responsibility directly upon each of us who has a personal relationship with our Saviour- much as we might like to blame the immorality of others for the precipitous rate of decline. But the responsibity is ours, and it always has been.... But what can we Christians do, that we are not already doing? The answer is there in that familiar verse from 2 Chronicles. It is a phrase that we have seen so often that we scarcely give it any thought: "If my people shall humble themselves ...." What does that really mean? It means to have done with the things of self and ego, to battle them with the same determination and tenacity which were the hallmark of the early Pilgrims and Puritans, as they strove to go the Covenant Way.

Wrong is right and right is wrong
But we all love to have it so
We pray to God to meet our needs
While the idols in our hearts still reign supreme.

Strange times are these in which we live when old and young are taught falsehoods in school. And the one man that dares to tell the truth is called at once a lunatic and fool ~ Plato ~

"With every encounter make it your aim that people are better off for having been in your presence. Try in every encounter to give something to the other person." - Jim George

"Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Saviour, nor of me His prisoner: But be thou partaker of the afflictions of the evangel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling not according to our works, but according to His purpose and grace, which was given us in Yahshua the Messiah before the world began...."
II Timothy 1:8-9
"We have this day restored the Sovereign to Whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in Heaven and from the rising to the setting of the sun, let His kingdom come."

Hmmmmm, Could this be happening again?
Now therefore if ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for all the earth is mine: and ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. - Exodus 19:5-6
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priest hood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show fourth the praises of Him Who hath called out of the darkness into His marvelous light: - I Peter 2:9
The Greek word for people is demo. The Greek word for rule is kratia. Put the two together and you have a fancy, high-sounding word, demo-kratia or democracy , which simply means the people have rejected God as king and are attempting to rule themselves.

“The banking infatuation pervades all America. Our whole system of banks is a violation of every honest principle of banks…a bank that issues paper at interest, is a pick-pocket or a robber. But the delusion will have its course. You may as well reason with a hurricane.”

We ought not to court publicity for our virtue, or notoriety for our zeal;but, at the same time, it is a sin to be always seeking to hide that which God has bestowed upon us for the good of others.A Christian is not to be a village in a valley, but "a city set upon a hill;" he is not to be a candle under a bushel, but a candle in a candlestick, giving light to all.
~Charles H. Spurgeon~
